You have purchased your gaming mouse. You check the box, that the cable works properly and that the lighting is RGB. But... what about the DPI? Our Helios optical mouse has a sensor up to 10,000 DPI. We usually focus on the lighting modes, the maximum speed or even the acceleration of the mouse we choose to accompany us in our games and we leave aside knowing what are the DPI of a mouse. If you are interested in finding out, sit back in your Aryon gamer chair and make yourself comfortable.
what is the meaning of DPI?
The term DPI stands for Dots Per Inch, dots per inch (or pixels per inch). DPI is the amount of pixels that your mouse pointer moves depending on the inches. Knowing how many DPI our gamer mouse can reach is very important, because if we have a small mouse pad we will have to increase that number so that the path we make with our hand reaches to cover the entire screen of our pc. On the other hand, if we have an xl mouse pad like Nemesis, we can reduce the DPI to have more room to maneuver. The higher the DPI, the higher the mouse sensitivity we will get on our monitor screen
DPI matters: a good ally in shooters
If you are a regular player of shooting games or shooters (such as Call of Duty, Overwatch, Fortnite or PUBG) you should keep in mind that the DPI settings of the mouse will be your best ally along with a good mechanical keyboard. The higher the DPI, the faster our crosshairs will move, and the lower the DPI, the opposite. Finding the right balance will be fundamental to compete online in an optimal way and to be able to win
How to know how many DPI my mouse has
The gaming mice from Newskill have different DPI, since each one of them is designed for a specific type of gamer. The Renshi mouse can reach a maximum of 8200 DPI, Helios reaches up to 10,000 DPI, Eos 16,000 DPI, Atreo 6200 DPI and Habrok reaches up to 16,000. Eos and Habrok share the number of DPI but differ in their grip type. Eos if you prefer the claw grip and Habrok if you prefer the palm style
How to change the DPI of my gamer mouse
Now that you know what a DPI is and what it's for, it's important to know how to modify it to suit your gaming style. The Renshi mouse has a DPI regulator button located under the anti-slip wheel, although it is also possible to modify them through its own software. The rest of our other models in the Newskill mouse family (as well as the Renshi itself) have dedicated software through which you can change the DPI. You can access the manuals and software of each mouse model in the product page of each one of them or in the Software/Manuals page of the Support section of our official website
